OAO "Nizhnekamskneftekhim"

OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” – a dynamically advancing high-tech petrochemical company. The Company production complex embodies 10 Major Plants, 7 Centres (including Research & Technology, and Design), as well as Support Units and Departments.
The range of products output comprises more than one hundred items. Major commodities are:
• general and specialty purpose synthetic types of rubber;
• plastics: polystyrene, polypropylene, polyethylene;
• monomers as feedstock to produce rubber and plastics;
• other petrochemical products (ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, alpha-olefins, surfactants, and so forth).

The Company's birthday is 31 July 1967. That day, the first produce of Central Gas Fractionation Unit, the first-born production facility of OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” , was shipped to users.
Over 41 years of its production activities, the Company turned into the largest petrochemical complex of Eastern Europe. About 53% of made products is export-marketed. The Company products are exported to more than 50 countries of Europe, America and Far East.
From year to year, the Company is improving technical and economic indices of its activities. Over 2008, the marketable products output of OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” amounted to RUR 70bn, in comparable prices – that is more than 106.4% compared to the previous year. Sales and service revenue reached RUR 70.9bn which is by RUR 7.8bn higher than the obligations assumed.

OAO "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" is implementing a large-scale investment program subject to the Company's strategy:
• to strengthen the Company's position, as a producer of a wide range of rubber grades, at domestic and worldwide markets;
• to make the Company a major player on the markets of Russia and CIS in producing and selling of a wide range of plastics.
A strategic program of OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” advancement has been devised pursuant to the basic trends in the President's program on developing an Oil-Gas-Chemical Complex of the Tatarstan Republic, and fully complies with its targets and objectives. It also conforms to the Strategy of the Russian chemical and petrochemical industry development until 2015, which is being put into practice by the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade.
In line with a long-term development program, OAO "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" has materialized a number of projects on setting up the units to make products which are new for the Republic, such as polystyrene and polypropylene. With a third PS Unit launched in summer 2008, OAO "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" has become the largest producer of this product in Russia.
The work is also going on to expand the capacities for basic monomers (ethylene and propylene) and rubber (BR, IIR, HIIR). At 2007 end, the first LiBR bale was produced, its full-scale production started in 2008. Now, the Company can offer users a complex package of 6 rubber types applied to produce tires and unique plastics.
At 2008 end, OAO "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" completed a Polyethylene Unit. In February 2009, the first commercial product was made.
The Company contemplates to launch production of EPS, ABS-plastics.
Implementation of new projects contributes to the advancement of the Nizhnekamsk Industrial Region established in 2004 to expedite development and formation of the novel state-of-the-art enterprises manufacturing finished goods from petrochemical raw materials.
Moreover, the Company is working hard and minutely on further development options – for the period until 2012-2013, based on setting up large-scale production units for basic monomers and a wide range of deep split products.
To finance an investment program, OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” makes use of its own earnings, as well as of loan funds. The Company attracts funds of the world financial institutions, including long-term loans against the security of the western Export Credit Agencies.
The Company approved an “Energy-Saving Program for 2006- 2010”. OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” is successfully putting into practice an Ecological Program for 2007- 2015 and a Program for development and introduction of an ecological management system. The Company environmental activities have been recognized to comply with ISO 14001:2004. In 2008, an automated environmental monitoring system was put into service, monitoring stations set up in the sanitary-hygienic zone and along the industrial site perimeter of OAO "Nizhnekamskneftekhim"
A Quality Management System of OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” has been certified to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and Health & Industrial Safety Management System – with OHSAS 18001:1999.
A development strategy devised by the Company being a leader in the Oil-Gas-Chemical Complex of the Tatarstan Republic, availability of the highly qualified personnel and of powerful production potential will assure for further successful activities of OAO “Nizhnekamskneftekhim”. The above-stated priorities will enable the Company to strengthen its position in the developed segments of the Russian and worldwide goods markets, to scale up its products competitive ability and, thereafter, the income level for the Company employees and shareholders, to increase the amount of tax allocations to the budgets of all levels which will result in the Company's augmented contribution to the accomplishment of Nizhnekamsk Town, to the economy of the Tatarstan Republic and the Russian Federation.
