The name of our Company "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" consists of two independent words: name of the city where the Company is located - Nizhnekamsk, that is the city situated downstream of the Kama-river (major tributary of the Volga-river), and proper name of the business the Company is engaged in - neftekhim, which stands for petrochemical. In combination, both these words are rather inconvenient for reading and the more so for pronouncing by western users of our SITE. Therefore, in our future information about our Company for convenience of our users we'll be writing the abbreviation NKNK Inc, which would mean "Nizhnekamskneftekhim" Inc.
